Peripheral Intra-Venous Cannulation Course

Overview

This 100-credit unit course equips learners with the proper skillsets to be competent cannulation practitioners. Learners would be reinforced with the sound knowledge & technics, including but not limiting to appropriate preparations for facility, equipment, device, patient and operators. Clinical attachment is the integral component and can be arranged at *alternative approved site, if needed. The learners shall develop adept Peripheral Intra-Venous Cannulation skills from mannequin  practical to chairside patient services under close supervision to ensure professional competence, patient safety and quality assurance.

Objectives
This course aims to impart learners with medical foundation knowledge cum PIVC-specific core knowledge as well as the proper skillsets to enable competency in Peripheral Intra-Venous Cannulation.

Recognized proof of:

  • Negative Hepatitis B &  HIV antigen or infection within 3 months prior to course commencement
  • Minimum O or N level certificate or WPLN Level 6 or equivalent
